STANBEE FORMS NEW PARTNERSHIP IN INDONESIA
Stanbee has announced a new partnership with PT Eco Mega Synergy. The arrangement ensures that Stanbee components will be distributed throughout Indonesia quickly and seamlessly. Founded in 2010, PT Eco Mega Synergy supplies pigment masterbatch to industry-leading footwear brands throughout Indonesia. In 2021, it expanded its operation by opening a recycling center in Brebes, Central Java. Now, in 2024, its new startup, PT Cahari Sukses Sejati, will serve as an official distributor for Stanbee, supplying finished, waste-free heel counters and toe boxes to factories across Indonesia. “The footwear industry is strong, resilient, and growing in Indonesia,” says Stanbee CEO, Michael Berkson. “We’re excited to announce we’ve now begun shipping net parts from our new cutting facility in Brebes.”
TOM MULLER JOINS STANBEE
Stanbee is pleased to announce the addition of Tom Muller as Global Sales Director. Tom has more than three decades of experience in the industry, having spent the last twenty years with Texon International, most recently as US Brand Director for Texon and Rhenoflex. “We’re excited to have Tom join our team,” says Stanbee CEO Michael Berkson. “Not only does he have years of industry experience, he has keen strategic insights. We’re looking forward to adding his voice to our global branding efforts as we continue introducing new, innovative, sustainable footwear components.”
NEW FACILITIES IN NORTHERN VIETNAM AND INDONESIA
Stanbee has announced that, in May 2024, it will be opening a new cutting facility in Indonesia. The facility will help boost output, reduce lead times, and offer door-to-door delivery. Also in the works is a bonded warehouse in northern Vietnam, which will enable Stanbee to open new distribution routes and cut lead times even more significantly.
DAVID HAPEMAN COMES ABOARD
We are pleased to announce that David Hapeman will be our new Director of Sales and Services in North America. He will work out of our Portland, OR, offices. David has extensive experience in the world of footwear, apparel, and equipment. Most recently, he served as General Manager of Northwest Accounts for Coats Footwear, working with brands such as Texon and Rhenoflex. He also served on a number of leadership teams across Nike’s global, North American, and emerging markets businesses. “We’re thrilled to have David onboard,” says CEO Michael Berkson. “He has deep experience and exceptional strategic skills. His skill set will help Stanbee grow its global presence as we continue to expand our line of sustainable products.”

Stanbee, a global manufacturer of box toes and heel counters was founded by Manny Berkson and his son Stan in Roseland, New Jersey in 1948. They were joined later by Manny’s other son Howard who took over the running of the company. Today, it is led by Howard’s son, Michael Berkson, with operations in Thailand and Vietnam, as well as their headquarters in the United States. “My family opened Stanbee with the goal of building an industry leader,” Berkson says, “and the company wound up being just that. Expansions in Vietnam and Thailand
Stanbee Asia Vietnam (SAV) has extended the company’s mission with a new, state-of-the-art, 6,200 square-meter, complete production facility—with its own extrusion line—just east of Ho Chi Minh City. Its digital-cutting capabilities help facilitate Stanbee’s zero waste program.
In Thailand, Stanbee Asia Limited (SAL) has added 2,200 square meters to its state-of-the-art plant, which now totals more than 6,100 square meters of manufacturing, warehousing, and administrative space. Its facility in Amata Nakorn’s Free Zone allows it to import machinery and materials duty free.
According to Stanbee CEO Michael Berkson, the Amata Nakorn facility represents a significant leap forward. “We’re leveraging the latest technology to boost quality and speed—while eliminating waste. That helps us in our ultimate mission, which is to become a 100% green company.”
David Soriano Joins the Team
We are proud to announce that David Soriano is joining team Stanbee, spearheading its expansions in Vietnam and Thailand. David brings with him more than 25 years of executive-level experience in the footwear industry. Specifically, he has guided sourcing, manufacturing, and supply-chain operations for a number of global consumer brands, including Nike, Puma, Danner, and Columbia Sportswear. David also has deep experience in product development, strategic planning, and multi-national manufacturing functions—as well as fruitful partnerships with key vendors in China, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
